Happy International Non-Binary People’s Day 💛🤍💜🖤

We can’t quite believe it – #EnbyLife Journal turns 10 this month!

#EnbyLife started out as a zine, born in July 2016. It was a paper and digital zine of collected stories, poetry, comics and art by non-binary and gender diverse people, mostly from Meanjin (Brisbane) and so-called Australia. 

Since its initial publication, #EnbyLife was revived into the online journal you know and love. In the past 10 years we’ve published over 140 non-binary and gender diverse creatives from all over the world. Our writers and artists have been finalists in the Genrepunk Awards and the Monarch Queer Literary Awards.

Here’s to heaps more empowering, queer years ahead!

We won a grant!

We’re so so happy to announce that #EnbyLife journal won a grant through the generosity of the Gender Reveal Podcast, so we can pay contributors!!!

Our plan is to open up submissions to #EnbyLife this month and to pay each contributor $20AUD. We believe paying creatives is important and receiving a grant has made this possible 🌈🌈💖💖

Hi there, my name is Rae White and I’m the editor of #EnbyLife. I recently revamped my Patreon to reflect the work I want to do with #EnbyLife. I want to create an online journal for non-binary and gender diverse creatives and artists. I want to pay contributors more than a token amount. #EnbyLife is an online journal by and for non-binary and gender diverse people.

We will be open for submissions very soon! If you fall under the gender diverse umbrella (e.g. genderqueer, gender fluid, agender, bi-gender, gender questioning, just to name a few) — we want your: poetry, essays, non-fiction, short stories, flash fiction, comics, artwork, audio and video work, hybrid and experimental pieces, work that doesn’t fall neatly into any category.

#EnbyLife started out as a zine, born in July 2016. The zine is still in print on Etsy and available FREE/pay what you want @ Gumroad.

Finally, #EnbyLife also has a Safe Space with helpful resources for non-binary and gender diverse people to seek help and feel welcome. We will continue to build this resource list as we grow.
